SOLO

A warm welcome to Maya's music page.

Maya is currently working on two solo albums, the first one marking her debut. Her compositions for film and theatre have significantly shaped her solo projects, enabling her to explore various genres and innovative techniques. She uses music as a language to create aural portraits and stories, as it's a vessel that can travel into the abyss of human emotion.

Maya's vocal style is influenced by her upbringing in Bosnia, her surname's roots in Western Ukraine, her parents' love for fado songs and Yma Sumac, and adult life in Western countries, which exposed her to diverse influences and contemporary experimentations. Maya writes her orchestral arrangements and plays guitar, bass guitar, piano, various percussive and synth instruments. For her solo project, she is inviting brass and woodwind musicians to join her. Updates on album releases will be shared on most digital platforms.

In anticipation,
Thank you for listening
